A place for crochet lovers to BE
Dismal Pattern Sales - Summer Slump?
I have only been selling my patterns since April so I don't have experience to know if there really is such a thing as a Summer Slump.
It just started about 5 days ago. It could also be because I stopped blogging everyday on my "The Yarn Yogi Blog".
Anybody else have experience with this? Do I just ride it out? Even placing Search Ads on Etsy generated zero revenue for me last week.

I don't sell my patterns online but I have sold other things. I"ve found that there are definite highs and lows-I began a notebook my 1st year to chart & it was very similar ea. yr. You have to look at the entire year to see how you're doing-don't worry it will pick up!

Also-you will learn from your charts when you need to put money aside for slumps.

Deanna-I'm a little bit of a maniac about some things but I even wrote down what the weather was like, significant happenings in the news that might affect sales, all kinds of crazy stuff-it actually helped me in the following years. It's a tough business but you can use downtime for other stuff like designing or just having a little well deserved relaxation.

I would suggest to use this quiet time for creating new designs and patterns to add to your shop.
