I have only been selling my patterns since April so I don't have experience to know if there really is such a thing as a Summer Slump.
It just started about 5 days ago. It could also be because I stopped blogging everyday on my "The Yarn Yogi Blog".
Anybody else have experience with this? Do I just ride it out? Even placing Search Ads on Etsy generated zero revenue for me last week.

I designed a cropped jacket to match the jumper and hat. I don't care for it. Not what I drew on paper. I thought of cute little puff sleeves. Didn't work out. I used measurements for a 4 yr old, did a gauge swatch and got my number of stitches. There was so much trouble getting this done. I had to rescue it twice from Koda (st. bernard puppy). First time when he knocked over my ice water and I had water and ice cubes on my notes, table and floor. Thank God I had my crochet was in a…

From "The Yarn Yogi Blog":
What's that you say? It's Wednesday, not Tuesday! I know - deal with it...
I absolutely love Foundation Stitches. A Foundation Stitch or Chainless Foundation, is making a foundation or base chain and sc or dc (tc, dtc, etc) at the same time. It makes for a stable yet flexible foundation for a crochet garment or accessory and it saves a…

I really need a few experienced/inexperienced crocheters, who are decent at math, to test my X-Stitch Shirttail Top Pattern and some of my future patterns. As a form of payment, I would like to give my pattern testers 2 of my patterns for free - currently for sale and any future patterns - testers' choice.
I need crocheters who can:

Last week, I took my 13-year old son to our local Tilly's to get his monthly pair of skateboarding shoes because last month's pair left pieces of its sole all over our neighborhood street. As I was paying at the register I saw these:…

Here's my newest post http://theyarnyogi.com/2012/07/02/shrug-faqs/:
The number one question I get about my shrugs is, “How do you put it on?” I remember my first shrug. It was a free vintage pattern for a bedjacket shrug from the ’50′s or ’40;s. I followed the pattern, completed it and said, “Whaaaat?” It was just a folded rectangle of crochet! How can this be worn? This is the reply I have been sending to my buyers who have…

I finished the jumper. Decided to put edging only on the bottom. Made hat to match. Waited a few days thinking I could find some buttons to match. Couldn't find any. My teenage granddaughter and her girlfriend liked it. We did try it on my three yr old grandson to check size etc. Looked really cute. Quickly got it off him before his father saw him with a jumper on. I am glad I finished it. Here are some photos.…

I have a new blog post on what I am using as inspiration for my new, free crochet wrap bracelet pattern:

Spinning on my navajo spindle... this is to be my first singles yarn and have a crochet pattern in mind. I've heard that crochet counteracts the bias created by using unplied yarns... gonna test out that theory soon, and I'm hoping I've got enough twist that the single strand doesn't drift apart in mid-stitch.
But in the meantime, I've got 6 more ounces to spin, and both a crochet vest and a knitted vest in the works to keep me busy. Biggest problem is the heat. So not inspired by…

Well, Bloomberg Business Week has also weighed in this morning on all the technical aspects of trademark protection and the USOC's letter to Ravelry. As other news sources have, they also failed to recognize that Ravelry is both knitting and crochet, but well, like every other newsy source that skipped us, they are piggy backing off the work of other papers instead of checking it out for themselves. If one news source says knitters and the letter from the USOC says knitters, then there’s no…

OK, so I flung my response out there into the blogosphere as well, following up on what Laurie's already well-written, making my point to help represent crocheters in this and link back to CLF. The funnel must be working, 'cuz my stats show a lot of clicks. You can read my take on things here - I'm afraid I wasn't super nice and I'd like to point out, knitting once was an Olympic event:…

Laurie,
Thanks for the advice. I worked on one strap. Not sure if I will use a button. I couldn't find any buttons and the only ones that would match are the ones on the flower. I thought about putting trim around the top and around the straps. Not sure. I will see what looks okay.
Thank you for the advice to finish anyway. I have the tendency to stop and put things away in a bag if I am not happy with it. I also took your advice to make notes on what worked, what I…
