I have just joined Hookey and am trying this out. Please, someone alert me if I am out of line anywhere.
I have been looking for an active crochet community. I hope this can be it. I am on ravelry as JDoll25.
Wow.... I find the photo slide show next to this blog window VERY distracting. I wonder if there is a way to temporarily close it? Only because I just keep staring at all the pretty work and forget what I was typing.
But I also see that much of what…Continue

Given that I have lots of time on my hands these day since we moved to Puerto Rico, I've been working on learning some new thing stitches. I have also been working on improving my finishing techniques, refining them so my finished items look more professional.
Here are a couple of blocks I made this week using Catherine's Wheel and crocodile stitches. Both of them were easier than I thought they would be and a lot of fun. Here's the link to the crocodile flower square. …Continue

I decided to switch my blog host from Wordpress to Weebly. I am slowly copying my old blog posts to the new site. Hopefully, I will keep posting to the blog portion regularly. It's been a tough year and a half for me and I just didn't have the time or the inclination to keep blogging. I am seeing how stress really decreases my creativity. I think finally, a year after my Dad passed and a…Continue

We are so freaking happy to finally be letting loose this secret: It has been a dream of ours to someday walk a collection down a fashion runway with our designs on gorgeous models to energizing music with our friends and family looking on. Well… it looks like that day is here. We have just been asked to present a design collection at the 2013 Northwest…Continue

We’ve been pretty tight lipped about this but we can say something now. Earlier this summer we entered Seattle Magazine’s Seamless In Seattle, Designer Competition. It was a call for local designers to submit their portfolios for review. We heard that we did not win, I know… I know… BUT we are in the Readers Choice Award running. Here is where we need your help. We need votes.…Continue

Each time I do I get better at it. (at least I like to think I do) :)
Laurie Wheeler will be my guest on Monday, so do stop by and read what she has to share about starting a membership site. It will only be on the blog until the end of July as it will be published in the second edition of Hooking for Cash coming out in August.

Crochet's a b*tch, its a big fat b*tch, its the biggest b*tch in the whole wide world,
Its a stupid b*tch if there ever was a b*tch, its a b*tch to all the boys and girls,
On Monday its a b*tch, on Tuesday its a b*tch, on Wednesday through Saturday its a b*tch,

OK, while I was tending to some other things on my Internet To Do List for today, a thought occurred to me and I want some constructive feedback/opinion about it.
I am getting ready to use my lessonopolis account to start filming lessons in one of my favourite things, Tunisian entrelac. I just love making things this way and I really want to show people how EASY it is. I know there are other people doing it for free and some really well known authors putting out classes, but…Continue
I'm participating in another term at Hogwarts this spring and I've decided to play Quidditch. The first assignment in spring training, before the games begin, was to get organized. I chose my crafting space. Clean freaks may want to look away.

If you haven't met Harrison of Furls Crochet, you should! Harrison is a super huge fan of crochet and the hands that hold the hooks. So much so that he designed crochet hooks so beautiful and comfortable to use they are out of this world! Beyond his passion for keeping our hands healthy and holding onto works of art, he believes that we who crochet deserve more and better treatment in the world.
That's why Hookey.org members are getting special treatment from Furls, that's…Continue

Also known as: my showerless week of sleeping on the floor. Eeewwww :P Cross posted from myblog.
I hate posting links, but I'm going to do it anyway. *Sigh* I need to find a way to make one post, so that facebook, google+, twitter, and here, get covered in one shot when I make a blog post.
Today's blog was inspired by conversations I've been having with people for the last few months and based on what I've learned in the salon:
Comment, criticize, enjoy :)
