Share your ideas about what we should do?Should we play games?Should we have competitions?Should we highlight the best of crochet?Think BIG here! What is your cro-fantasy?Continue
Oooh Kim that's a cool idea :D

Kim, that's a cool idea, but I honestly think it would be easier to send scrumbles and bits and pieces to one or more to assemble. The logistics (and cost) of sending a big piece like that all over the place would be on the costly side. I can't see a big free form piece making it to Ireland. Perhaps we make one piece per state/country and then install it on the same day worldwide. This way we can propagate crocheters locally and encourage them to be part of something bigger and get crochet "out there"...
That's just my five cents worth. I look forward to hearing other input as I really think you idea Kim is so cool!

Ah OK, perhaps I should start reading comments properly before I take to the keyboard! ;-)
No matter, it's a great idea and I really think it can take off!

It sounds like crochet geocacheing, almost! Perhaps we should see how far it can travel during the month, just for fun, maybe try getting people to submit pictures of it wherever they are before they pass it on, with a route map or something?

I like THAT idea..but what happens with the uh....final project? (whenever THAT would be).
But a traveling free-form..awesome!!!!! And EVERYONE would need to get a picture taken of them working on it. a MUST. We'd have a spot to post all the pix. I love it!!!! Why don't we just START, and decide what happens with it as it goes? Maybe offer it up for an auction after it gains some. Donate money to something crochet friendly (that requires some research - unless anyone has a good idea) What do you think? I'd just love to see all the pictures! Would people be willing to send it overseas?

Argh, didn't see all the comments...in any case, maybe start overseas, start here, see how big it gets...maybe each continent will have it's own, or maybe some brave soul would be willing to send a finished piece to the other. I say we just START and see what happens. It's freeform anyways, right? So it doesn't have to have a plan in place? ;) People can just start...maybe start a blog or something where people say, OK, got something ready here, who wants it next? Send it along to whoever wants it next? Each part has to have a pix submitted by each person, and I like the notecard idea. Next person is responsible to keep it all together and add their own. I also have a bunch of scrumbles..who doesn't?

..and we need to get our bloggers to all post about it as it goes - or get their part in, hopefully - so get the talk spread EVERYWHERE

Big logistical job all of a sudden... I have decided that I'm going to set a Yarn Graffiti project in motion here in free form, starting with the people I know and then have a central collection point where we will gather and install the collective piece (have the perfect lamp post in mind). Should anybody want to send pieces from abroad and want to add to it, that would be great!
In other words, I think it can be an international event in the sense that we are all crocheting and then actually installing our pieces "locally"...
Does that make sense or have I taken to my keyboard too soon again? One way or another, as long as we are all spreading the word and getting the world to crochet I think we are on to a winner!
