Well I just love Linda's new sweater, shows a lot of stitches.  Maybe with a crocheted hat though.Or maybe we could do a different one each month.  I'm sure we'd have a lot of choices.  Probably…Continue

I love making garments.

Some are easy, others are fiddly and some are downright nightmares though LOL

I recently completed a car coat for my best friend. She absolutely adores it! I'll post a photo in my photos.

I've also made other garments, a vest for my daughter, worsted weight shawls or all sizes and shapes, children's clothing as well.

I always look for patterns that can be adapted easily or are forgiving in fit since we don't all fit the same mould.

I love making skirts.  Long, lacey skirts.  I have several that I have worn to work over a skirt or leggings.  Most people look pretty hard and say nothing.  I wonder if they are too daring for most women my age......

Nah! I think they're trying to figure out where to buy it and just don't have the nerve to ask :) likely thinking it's expensive.

With designers including crochet clothing into their new clothing designs, it's brought crochet out of the closet and onto the runways of Paris, New York and Rome which is a good thing for us.

It's also a bad thing since there are lots of knockoffs being sold for less money than it cost for the yarn in big box stores. I've seen a vest made of intricate squares with multiple colour changes, using Egyptian cotton. You would think that this vest would cost at least 75$ to 100$, right? Well, I saw it for 20$ bleeping dollars!!! The yarn alone would have cost twice that!! And considering that it was produced in a third world country, it means that the person who crocheted it got next to nothing for her time and materials.

I made a lacy crochet skirt I thought would be a good cover up, but I never did.  I keep thinking I'll wear it over some teal shorts or maybe my dungaree skirt that's getting too short.  Still haven't worn it yet, but I will:)

Hi, I make Sweaters, Cardigans and Vests.  I love it when someone tells you that Cables can't be achieved with Crochet, when you are wearing a sweater with cables all over it, Crocheted of course!!  My favourite cardigan is one I made for myself in a mid Pink which is cabled.  I will try and put up a photo now.

Yay !!  This is my Pink Cabled Cardigan!  I lengthened the rib on the sleeves and around the bottom, I guess it was because I was a teenager in the '70's and always wanted a cardigan like this!!  LOL

Kathleen Michelle, I'm in my 40s and wear long crochet-lace skirts over leggings and shorts and other skirts, too - I just love the versatility of layering!  So far it's been store-bought skirts I cut the lining out of.  But because my pocketbook is not as happy with paying for them as I am wearing them, I've decided to try making them myself.

Madelyn - I think you'll love making your own crocheted skirts.  There's something very satisfying about wearing your own handmade.  Even if it gets  you stares.
