I need an uber LOTR geek..anyone? Anyone know Elvish?
SOooo, hubby said I could get a new tattoo once my car is paid off (May!!!!) and part of what I want involves taking the phrase "One ring to rule them all", in Elvish, and changing "ring" into "hook". Yes, I want it to say "One Hook to rule them all"...in Elvish. Anyone???

Well, so far I have pieced together "MIn ampa a' herv sen ilya" but don't think it's quite correct. And then of course I have to get that into Tengwar...LOL!
Doesn't surprise me at all, Laurinda....we're all kinda special-thinkers, us hookers.

Wouldn't the rest of the phrase be in the books somewhere? Tolkien did his own maps & such, I'm surprised it's not in there somewhere.

Just a warning: the original ring poem is in the Black Speech, or Mordor Speech, not Elvish. It's written with elvish letters but it's not Quenya, nor Sindarin or any other dialect.
So if you substitute "nazg" ("ring" in the Black Speech) with "ampa" ("hook" in Quenya) in the original poem you end up with a awkward hybrid.
